Given that \(a_1 = 6\) and \(a_n = 2a_{(n - 1)}\) for \(n > 1\) and we need to find the value of \(a_6 - a_5 =\)
\(a_1 = 6\) and \(a_n = 2a_{(n - 1)}\)
=> \(a_2 = 2*a_1\) = 2 * 6 = \(2^1\) * 6 = \(2^{(2 - 1)}\) * 6
=> \(a_3 = 2*a_2\) = 2 * \(2^1\) * 6 = \(2^2\) * 6 = \(2^{(3 - 1)}\) * 6
Looking at the pattern
=> \(a_5 = 2^{(5 - 1)}\) * 6 = \(2^4\) * 6
=> \(a_6 = 2^{(6 - 1)}\) * 6 = \(2^5\) * 6
=> \(a_6 - a_5 =\) = \(2^5\) * 6 - \(2^4\) * 6 = \(2^4\) * 6 *(2-1) = \(2^4\) * 6 = 16*6 = 96
So, Answer will be D
