Re: If x denotes the sum of the integers from 1 to 40 inclusive, what is t [#permalink]

I have another way: sum of first 80 integers - sum of first 40 integers = sum of integers from 41-80
n(n+1)/2 using this formula:
sum of first 80 integers = 3240
sum of first 40 integers = x(given)
sum of integers from 41 to 80 = 3240-x
