\(k = (x – 1)(x + 2) – (x – 1)(x – 2)\)
Simplifying the equation by taking \(x-1\) common
\(k = (x - 1)( x + 2 - x + 2 )\)
\(k = 4(x - 1)\)
Hence for any value of \(x\), \(k\) will be even always.
