If 5/13 of the students are boys, then the remaining 8/13 of the students are girls.
So, we might say, for every 5 boys there are, we have 8 girls.
In other words, the ratio of boys to girls = 5/8
So, we get:
QUANTITY A: 5/8
QUANTITY B: 8/13
One option is to convert these fractions to decimals (using long division or the onscreen calculator)
Here's what I'd do on test day:
Multiply both quantities by 8 to get:
QUANTITY A: 5
QUANTITY B: 64/13
Multiply both quantities by 13 to get:
QUANTITY A: 65
QUANTITY B: 64
Answer: A

total no of kids are 13 as we can see that 5(boys)/13(total kids)
girl to boy ratio is 5/8
Girl to total ratio is 68/13
there we have 2 factions which we have to compare. In order to compair the faction one much make the base of teh faction as EQUIVALENT.
by multiplying 13 to entity A -- 5 and 8 to 13 we have 65/104
and option B by multiplying by 8 to both numerator and denominator we get 64/104
Option A is corrrect answer.
