In Geometric progression; ratio of 2 consecutive terms is always a constant
OR
If a, b, c are in G.P
then, \(b^2 = ac\)
Now, the given terms are: -2, x, 8
Therefore, \(x^2 = (-2)(-8)\) = 16
i.e. x = +4 or -4
The possible series could be:
-2, -4, -8, -16, -32, -64, .......
-2, +4, -8, +16, -32, +64, ......
Sixth term = +64
Hence, option E
