So based on Venn-diagram we can write Total = % of female voters voting for Only Edith + % of female voters voting for Only Jose + % of female voters voting for Both + Neither - (Eqn1)
Here Neither = 0 since the question says that each of the 900 voters voted for either Edith or Jose or both
Now % of female voters voting for Edith = % of female voters voting for Only Edith + Both --> 60 = % of female voters voting for Only Edith + 20 --> % of female voters voting for Only Edith = 60 - 20 = 40
Thus we can consider the Total to be 100% and write Eqn 1 as 100 = 40 + % of female voters voting for Only Jose + 20 + 0 --> % of female voters voting for Only Jose = 100 - 40-20 = 40%
