Here, we simply need to calculate the total number of defective fruits.
Defective fruits in first shipment = \(\frac{2}{100}*12000=240\)
Defective fruits in second shipment = \(\frac{4}{100}*16000=640\)
Total Defective= 880
Percentage defective = \(\frac{880}{28000}*100=3.14%\)
We pick the closest number and hence the answer is C
