7(1.7) + 5(x) = 37 We're given that from April to October, the average rainfall was 1.7 per month. Thus, 7*1.7 = 11.9. Total rainfall is 37 inch, thus, 37 - 11.9 = 25.3. So the remaining 5 months, the average rain would be 25.3 / 5 = 5.06. Thus, option D is the correct answer. C is repeated twice.
