Isolate one triangle and find the measures of all of its angles using the properties of parallel lines. In this case, use the uppermost one: Since
x+y=2z,
x+y+(180- 2z)= 180
x+y- 2z=0,
so x=-y + 2z.
x+y=2z,
x+y+(180- 2z)= 180
x+y- 2z=0,
so x=-y + 2z.
