In the attached image, we see that the central triangle has angles of x, 90 - x, and 180 - 2x. These angles must add up to 180:
x + 90 - x + 180 - 2x = 180
Combine like terms:
270 - 2x = 180
Add 2x to both sides:
270 = 180 + 2x
Subtract 180:
90 = 2x
Divide by 2:
x = 45
x + 90 - x + 180 - 2x = 180
Combine like terms:
270 - 2x = 180
Add 2x to both sides:
270 = 180 + 2x
Subtract 180:
90 = 2x
Divide by 2:
x = 45
