Positive slope (line goes like /) and positive x-intercept means that y-intercept will be negative. The area of the triangle would be (1/2)*(value of x-intercept)*(the value of y-intercept) --> \(area=\frac{1}{2}*4*|y|=12\) --> \(|y|=6\) --> as y-intercept is negative, then \(y=-6\).
