Re: In three years, Janice will be three times as old as her daughter. Six [#permalink]

As for your question

J = janice
d= daughter

\(J-6=(D-6)^2\)

Translating the stem step by step

In three years,

means now +3

Janice will be three times as old as her daughter.

J + 3 = 3(D + 3 )

Six years ago, her age was her daughter’s age squared. How old is Janice?

J-6 = (D-6)^2

Solve the two equations
