Data show the amount of money that an average student at College Z spent on tuition, rent, and food from the year 2007 through the year 2010. Figures at left are in dollars.

In which year did the average student spend less on food than in the previous year?

A. 2007

B. 2008

C. 2009

D. 2010

E. None of the above

Kudos for the right solution and explanation

By perusing the chart, in 2007 the average student spent close to $500 and in 2008 it was close to $300.

Apart from that, we can interpret the data by looking at the chart that in 2008 the average student spent less than 2007.

The correct answer is option B.
