The answer should directly negate infallible wisdom since the word instead of brings upon a contradiction to the whole sense of the statement.

Hence,
a) progenitor - descendent (Invalid)
b) archetypes - perfect example (G. Washington refers them to something, not a perfect example)
c) dolt - stupid person (Exactly)
d) pugilist - boxer (Nah, conveys no meaning)
e ) elitist - believes to be followed by a elite person (Nope)
