Since the key words "more... as to" (aka more than) are used, we can set up this inequality:
Time spent walking > Time spent in elevator plus the 7 min wait
\(30x > 2x+7(60)\)
\(28x > 420\)
\(x > 15\)
C, D, and E are all greater than 15. To check, we can plug C,D, and E as x back into the inequality:
Option C:
Time to walk = 30(16) = 480
Time to ride elevator plus 7 minutes = 2(16) + 420 = 452
480 > 452, so this works
Option D:
Time to walk = 30(18) = 540
Time to ride elevator plus 7 minutes = 2(18) + 420 = 456
540 > 456, so this works
Option E:
Time to walk = 30(20) = 600
Time to ride elevator plus 7 minutes = 2(20) + 420 = 460
600 > 460, so this works
