If provided algebra on the GRE, first look to solve algebraically. In this case using the formula: h(x)=√x+2.
Since provided the information that 3h(v) = 18 ÷ the equation by 3 to determine that h(v) = 6.
Then, replace h(v) with √v+2 = 6 and subtract 2 from each side to find that √v= 4, before squaring the equation to find that v = 16.
Finally, use that value for v to find v/4 = 4 and plug 4 into h(x)=√x+2 to find that √4+2 = 4, which matches choice E.
