The x-intercept of a line is the point on the line where y = 0
Take 6x + 8y = 72
Replace y with 0 to get: 6x + 8(0) = 72
Solve: x = 12
So, x = 12 at the x-intercept of line L
The y-intercept of a line is the point on the line where x = 0
Take 6x + 8y = 72
Replace x with 0 to get: 6(0) + 8y = 72
Solve: y = 9
So, y = 9 at the y-intercept of line L
We have:
QUANTITY A: 12
QUANTITY B: 9
