This is more awful than I thought!!
i was not able to complete my essay on time. Any suggestions?
I think I spent too much time on the structure of the essay than the content. (plus I wrote it at home, a fairly noisy environment with family members talking downstairs-very distracting).
I'll keep trying harder since my exam is in 3 days!
But please leave your comments with what I was able to put together:
Thanks!
"Young people should be encouraged to pursue long-term, realistic goals rather than seek immediate fame and recognition."
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the recommendation and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, describe specific circumstances in which adopting the recommendation would or would not be advantageous and explain how these examples shape your position.
Famous people from Youtube, who quickly became a star from one simple video gaining million views overnight, are in abundance nowadays. This instant fame is what the young generation are hoping for. More young people sit in front of their cameras and show their talents in music, comedy or any random video, hoping they would go viral - thus gaining immediate fame and recognition. However, all young people should not be seeking fame and recognition despite their intentions because chances of getting famous are very slim, long-term goals are more promising whereas, fame may or may not last long.
Whether it is for youtube or an audition in broadway or TV show, the chances of gaining fame are very slim. One either gets the fame or they don’t. And if they don’t, all their money spent on equipment or travel is down the drain. Sure, the ‘audition’ or attempt would look good on their resume, but it is better for them to pursue a more realistic goal so that they could have a broader aspect on things before they seek fame.
Long-term, realistic goals are more promising because pursuing career goals that are necessary
Fame may or may not be ephemeral. However, long term goals may allow you to get famous later. There are some instances where one could gain fame from a long-term, realistic goal. For instance, if you pursue a goal in the healthcare field, by successfully being a physician, you may be driven to finding a discovery for a cure. If you’re successful, you may instantly become famous.
The essay does not fully support the argument.
- Lack of a small but important introduction or premise.
- the essay does not fully address why are the real or could be the real reasons for not searching short fame but the success in the long time. Fo instance saying that this is a more rewarding gaol and more durable or stable. Not a mirage but something more concrete.
- Not a clear and consistent conclusion
Hope this helps. Do not hesitate to ask for further clarifications
