Thank you very much to take out your precious time. It is indeed a valuable input. Can we keep water bottle with us? 4 hour is too long

@Farina you cannot keep anything except for allowed items on the table. I kept the water bottle and snacks away in the same room, but I did mention these items to the proctor and show where they are placed. He approved and I continued the exam.

Hi guys,

I registered for the GRE test at home for this Tuesday. I'm in Maryland USA; I was using a Macbook Pro, and my internet speed is 100mb. I had a TERRIBLE experience, and I would not recommend anyone to do this if you don't have to.

On test day I passed all the equipment checks. Right before the test the Proctor told me my microphone was not working, and sent me to IT. IT just increased my microphone volume and sent me back to the test. I didn't even put down my name and the test closed and the Proctor told me to call ETS. I asked him what is going on, is there something wrong with my microphone, and he said no. Anyways, that's it. That's all that happened.

I call ETS and they tell me it will take them 7 to 10 days to review this. Until then there is a hold on my ETS account so I can't register for another test. This is needless anxiety at a time when I needed to pick schools to apply to and talk to my referees.

**No one tells you that it takes 7 to 10 days for ETS to resolve this.** I think this is key information and I wish someone had told me this before. No where, where ETS is advertising the at home test do they talk about this.

Anyways, don't take the test at home. It is not worth it at all in my opinion. My momentum is killed. My anxiety is off the charts. I can not study anymore.
