Hello everyone. I need an update on which books are considered the best for GRE preparation. I have given the GRE before in 2015 (Q-167/V-163) and will be giving it a second time this year.
For my Verbal practice I'm basically using the following:
- RC from Codecoax
- Manhattan (Essential/Advanced) / Barron (900/333) wordlist. Might also include
Magoosh though I know its an overkill
- ETS Official Guide
- Aldaily & Scientific American (to get used to reading dry passages)
For Quants:
- Manhattan set of 8
- Manhattan 5lb
- ETS Official Guide
- Princeton 1041 (the last time I used it had a large number of typos but is the only other book other than the ETS OG that has a good verbal section i feel)
SO, for what other book can I use? Is it worth getting:
- Official GRE Verbal Reasoning Practice Questions
- Official GRE Quantitative Reasoning Practice Questions
- Princeton 1041 (I need practice material and if there's any other book i can replace this typo ridden book with?)
My goal this time is to score 330+ and any other resources are welcome.
Here is the review :
My suggestion
1. GRE OFFICIAL GUIDE ( all ques available in gre prepclub)
2. GRE BIG BOOK ( all ques available in gre prepclub)
3. GRE 10th Edition ( - do-)
Link for official guide :
4. Manhattan 5lb (QUANT ONLY)
6.
Magoosh (QUANT)
For verbal stick only to official guide (avoid Manhattan 5lb for verbal)
Check greprepclub, you will get tons of ques. This should be enough
Perfect set of books. Thank you!
