the question asks about the november and December sales , so we have to add all the bars in the respective categories. We tend to to add the months , which is incorrect . so the bottom line is add according to the category as provided .
November sales $1000(23+4+6) = $40,000
December sales : $1000(15+11+14) = $40,000.
so both the quantities are equal.
