Let's use the Double Matrix Method. This technique can be used for most questions featuring a population in which each member has two characteristics associated with it (aka overlapping sets questions)..
Here, we have a population of seniors, and the two characteristics are: - in band or not in band - in orchestra or not in orchestra
From the given information, we can set up our matrix as follows:

I took "exactly 40" as only 40 in Band & not orchestra, hence I got a different answer. The question should have explicitly mentioned that point right?
