One integer will be randomly selected from the integers 11 to 60, inclusive. What is the probability that the selected integer will be a perfect square or a perfect cube?
(A) 0.1
(B) 0.125
(C) 0.16
(D) 0.5
(E) 0.9
Here
Total number of integers from 11 to 60 = 50
perfect squares from 11 to 60 are = 16 , 25, 36 and 49
perfect cube = 27
Hence there are 5 integers that can be either a perfect square or a perfect cube
Therefore probability = \(\frac{5}{50}\)= 0.1
