\( 2x^2 − 9x – 18 = 0\)
One root is 6.
Here from the equation, we can determine the sum and the multiplication of the roots.
In an equation \( ax^2 + bx + c = 0\)
Sum of roots = \(\frac{-b}{a}\)
Multiplication of roots = \(\frac{c}{a}\)
For the given equation :
Sum of roots = \(\frac{-(-9)}{2}\) = 4.5
One root = 6 Hence other root = \(4.5-6\) = \(-1.5\)
