Hello everyone!
I just joined the forum, sorry for any eventual english errors, it's not my native language.
Here's my short story.
For direct admission at a college here in Italy, is required to have a 550+ GMAT score or, for GRE a 145 score in both verbal and quant section.
What you think it's easier to achieve?
I have already checked percentiles and GRE score goal should be by far easier to achieve.
I already have read a lot of informations about both tests structures, difference and similarities, but I want to hear other opinions from you.

Hi and welcome to the board
I did not know that Italian Universities or Faculties need the GRE or GMAT score to attend the "Ateneo". Which one you are pointing out ? Milan Bicocca? The Statale University ?
Back to your question, the GRE is certainly easier than the GMAT
However a low score as 145 could be risky : to have this score you have to nail in the first section, which is always medium, 7/8 questions. But to worth points to mention
1) On average the first section is \(\approx 3.3\) but you do not know how many questions of 1 or 5 difficulty level the algorithm pushes towards you. They could be in most parts 4, for example. Therefore you could need up to nail just a few questions
2) The second section at that point will be easy BUT in the end, the exam will put on you maybe some penalty points.
To sum up, aiming to just 145 is a razor edge.
Even though you do need not a so high score I would take the exam as if you need 165 in both sections

Hello Carcass! Thank you for the quick answer.
I have two months of preparation ahead, and I have already studied 1 month for GMAT quant section, even though I would like to take the GRE test in few weeks, I feel like I can manage to get a minimum of 145 points for each section. I think I will take a better look at GRE Verbal section and eventually decide to go for it. Anyway, as you also suggested, I would approach the test as I would need an higher score.
Do you think that studying for GMAT (or GRE) Quant section does not prepare you at all for GRE (or GMAT) Quant section? Same question for the Verbal section.
If you have other tips and suggestions feel free to address me to the best choice.

It's really not a requirement, it's an additional option beside the "Ateneo" official tests. Anyway GMAT/GRE can be used for both Bocconi University (Milan) and Luiss University (Rome). I don't know about other italian Universities since the two mentioned above are the only ones I'm interested in.Carcass wrote:
