we can use the area of right triangle to find out the area of 1 shaded region. The area of the large right triangle is: 0.5*8*6=24 and the area of the small right triangle is: 0.5*4*3=6. So the area of one shaded region is 24-6=18. we have 4 shaded region and the area of these shaded region will be 18*4=72. so option B is correct

This is interesting!
Another method is to see that the area of a rhombus is 0.5 * product of the length of the diagnols.
