If the number of female general surgery physicians in the under-35 category represented 3.5 percent of all the general surgery physicians, approximately how many male general surgery physicians were under 35 years?

Let the number of female surgery physicians under the age of 35 be x.
Now from the first graph, we can conclude that the total number of general surgery physicians is 37000 (35000 male and 2000 female).
According to the question, we can form the following equation:
x = 3.5% of (37000) = 1300 (approx.)
The total number of general surgery physicians are under 35 are 30% of 37000 (second graph) = 11,100
The total number of male general surgery physicians under the age of 35 are: total number of general surgery physicians are under 35 - female surgery physicians under the age of 35
11,100 - 1300 = 9800
Now from the first graph, we can conclude that the total number of general surgery physicians is 37000 (35000 male and 2000 female).
