It is given that in a given week, the average sales in weekends are equal to three
times the average sales of rest of the five days of the week.
We need to find sales in the weekend is what fraction of the total sales in the week.
Average sale from Monday to Friday = Sum of the sales from Monday to Friday/5
Sum of sales from Monday to Friday = 5๐ฅ
It is given that the average sale in the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) is 3 times of ๐ฅ.
So, average sale in the weekend = 3๐ฅ
Average sale in the weekend =
3x=๐๐ข๐ ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐กโ๐ ๐ค๐๐๐๐๐/2
Sum of sales in the weekend (on Saturday and Sunday) = (3๐ฅ) ร (2) = 6๐ฅ
So, total sum of sales in the week = Sum of sales from Monday to Friday + Sum of
sales in the weekend = 5๐ฅ + 6๐ฅ = 11x
6x/11x=6/11

Let the 5 days of week be a,b,c,d,e
average of 5 days of week = (a+b+c+d+e)/5 = x
Now, let the weekends be f & g
average of 2 days of weekend = (f+g)/2=y
Now, we have given that y=3x
Therefore, x = y/3
Now the average of whole week = (5x+2y)/7
Dividing, (average of 2 days of weekend)/(average of whole week)
= (2y)/((5x+2y)/7)
= 2y*3/11y
= 6/11
average of 5 days of week = (a+b+c+d+e)/5 = x
Now, let the weekends be f & g
average of 2 days of weekend = (f+g)/2=y
Now, we have given that y=3x
Therefore, x = y/3
Now the average of whole week = (5x+2y)/7
