You here cannot use the weighted average because you do not have the speed of the two distances. You do not know if she drove fast o slowly the first two days or the other three days

You have only the miles for 5 days

2d/20+3d/30=2d/10=d/5

5d/d/5=25d/d=25

i have tried this way as well. i got this ans.
by the way "you do not have the speed of the two distances"
actually we have given
for mon & tues - 20miles/H
remaining 3 days - 30 miles/H

can we use the formula 2*S1*S2/S1+S2, THE FORMULA THAT IS USED WHILE THE DISTANCE IS SAME
BASED ON WHICH I GOT 2*30*20/20+30 = 1200/50 = 24

There is no specified distance, so if you make up a random distance (I chose 60 miles), you can solve the problem this way. If the route to work is 60 miles, the average speed for Monday and Tuesday would be d/t = r or 2(60)/t = 20. Therefore for Monday and Tuesday, the time would be 6 hours.

It's the same for Weds, Thurs and Friday. Using d/t = r, it would be 3(60)/t = 30. Therefore time would also be 6 hours.

For the last part, the total distance 60(5) divided by the total time 12 hrs = 300/12 or 25 miles per hour.

25 < 26 meaning Choice B is the correct answer.
