Another way to do this is to recognize that the list of the odd and even numbers are and equally spaced set. To find the sum of an equally spaced set, multiple the average of the set * the number of terms.
For x: (1 + 19)/2 = 10 * 10 = 100
for y: (2 + 20)/2 = 11 * 10 = 110

y = 110
x + 10 = 110

Answer choice is C.
