Given, 𝑥 is sum of 10 odd natural numbers and 𝑦 is the sum of 10 even natural
numbers.
𝑥 = 1 + 3 + 5 + 7 + ⋯ + 19 and 𝑦 = 2 + 4 + 6 + 8 + ⋯ + 20
On subtracting 𝑥 from 𝑦, we get
(𝑦 − 𝑥) = (2 − 1) + (4 − 3) + (6 − 5) + (8 − 7) … + (20 − 19)
(𝑦 − 𝑥) = 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 … … … + 1 = 10
Hence, both quantities are equal.
Given, 𝑥 is sum of 10 odd natural numbers and 𝑦 is the sum of 10 even natural
numbers.
𝑥 = 1 + 3 + 5 + 7 + ⋯ + 19 and 𝑦 = 2 + 4 + 6 + 8 + ⋯ + 20
On subtracting 𝑥 from 𝑦, we get
(𝑦 − 𝑥) = (2 − 1) + (4 − 3) + (6 − 5) + (8 − 7) … + (20 − 19)
(𝑦 − 𝑥) = 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 … … … + 1 = 10
Hence, both quantities are equal.
