did any body find out the paradox here ????

The key word inadvertently makes the sentence cogent and the apparent paradox

that claims are actually against change in the regime. So when they inadvertently support it, they seem to inclined to against the change in authority.

Can the sentence mean that the editorial wanted to help the administration but in the process of doing so, it unintentionally weakened the governments claim effectively making a case against it.

Exactly the contrary

He/She intended to take down the administration and in doing so helped to stay the same administration in place

The editorial wanted to dispute or impugn the actual administration but at the same time, ironically, back up certain claims or actions of the same administration.

In the first blank you must have a word that explain to us the meaning of the sentence itself: the editorial wanted to weaken the administration in the first place.

And the word to express the concept to weak is A not B. B means the contrary: the editorial wanted to strengthen the administration.

I hoe now is clear

i meant what is clue "the editorial wanted to weaken the administration" is that "though" which is used for contrast if yes ? then with this i guess we still can't be able prediction the next word should be -ve. the word can be +ve also the contrast of -ve

The approach positive and negative words, clues, and a word signs contrast are all true

However, at they same time, you approach must be also flexible

The only fixed rule is the meaning of the sentence

The editorial, , inadvertently ____(ii)____ several claims made against the regime suggested as a preferable alternative

The editorial unintentionally sustained or agreed with the regime

though intended to ____(i)____ the current administration

even if (though) he intended call into it

I hope now is more clear
