We are given that
\(f(x) = 2x + k\)
\(f(3) = 6 + k\)
but we are also given
\(f(3) = 2k + 1\)
Equating both values for \(f(3)\)
\(2k + 1 = 6 + k\)
\(k=5\)
Quantity A
\(k=5\)

\(5\)
BOTH quantities are EQUAL.
The answer is C

Using the formula for f(x), \(f(3) = 2(3) + k = 6+k\)
We're also given that f(3) = 2k+1, so set these equal to each other:
\(6+k = 2k+1\)
\(5 = k\)
