Yes, that is correct. Well done, it is a tough question.
Hi, I tried solving this by finding the distance between the two points. For example, I first found the distance between point B and origin. Then point B and C. I was obviously wrong in this approach, but could you tell me how I was wrong here?

Strategy: Use the co-ordinate system boxes.
first
find the area of triangle made by diagonal AC= 1/2*base*height= 1/2*7*7 = 49/2
second:
find area of triangle made by side AD= 1/2*4*3= 6
third:
find area of triangle made by side DC= it is equal to above (because both have number of coordinates block)= 6
fourth:
we are left with square which is formed at D= 3x3 = 9
Final:
Subtract second, third and fourth areas from first to get the area of ACD (which is half of parallelogram)=
49/2-(6+6+9)= (49/2)-21 = 7/2
therefore total area= 2x(7/2)= 7
Answer= 7
