The first blank can only be filled in after reading the entire passage, which is about migration of ethnic groups. Thus we know that the first blank is about the changing ethnic make up of Abkhazia, or its demographics. If the Abkhazians were leaving after revolts against the Russians failed, then they probably were also somewhat anti-Russian, or at least were sympathetic to (agreed with, looked on with favor) anti-Russian activity. For the last blank, we know that the groups, or peoples, were moved from their homes - they were expelled, kicked out, which is what dispossessed means. The phrase "ethnic cleansing" makes it doubtful that they were mollified and content (appeased) or self-assured and pleased (complacent).
