Intuitively, if y=3x and x+y =1 (100%) then x= 1/4. Therefore, if y is greater than 3x, x must be less than 1/4. We know that 1/4 (.25) is greater than 1/5 (.2). However, we do not know how much less than 1/4 x actually is -- it could be .24 (greater than 1/5) or .19 (less than 1/5). Therefore, the relationship between Quantities A and B cannot be determined and the correct answer is D.
