Sum = Average ร Number of terms
So, we have,
(10 + 13 + ๐ฅ + 16 + ๐ฆ + 26) = 16 ร 6
๐ฅ + ๐ฆ = 31
As all the scores are in ascending order, value of ๐ฅ would be from 13 to 16.
Similarly, the value of ๐ฆ would be from 16 to 26.
Values of ๐ฅ and ๐ฆ would be in the mentioned range, and their summation should be 31.
If ๐ฅ = 13, ๐ฆ must be 18. (difference is 5)
If ๐ฅ = 14, ๐ฆ must be 17. (difference is 3)
If ๐ฅ = 15, ๐ฆ must be 16. (difference is 1)
Ans. (A, B and C)

How are you assuming X = 13 and Y = 16 as well? I can very well assume that X = 14 and 15 only and 17<Y<25? It is not clear from the question that X can take 13 also as a possible value and 16 is a possible value for Y as well, given that the question states they are in ascending order?
