The table above shows the scores of 6 students in Mathematics, in ascending order. If all the scores are integers and the average of all 6 scores mentioned in the table is 16, then, what is the difference between the scores of Lomb and Tom?

We have 10, 13, ๐ฅ, 16, ๐ฆ, 26.
Sum = Average ร Number of terms
So, we have,
(10 + 13 + ๐ฅ + 16 + ๐ฆ + 26) = 16 ร 6
๐ฅ + ๐ฆ = 31
As all the scores are in ascending order, value of ๐ฅ would be from 13 to 16.
Similarly, the value of ๐ฆ would be from 16 to 26.
Values of ๐ฅ and ๐ฆ would be in the mentioned range, and their summation should be 31.
If ๐ฅ = 13, ๐ฆ must be 18. (difference is 5)
If ๐ฅ = 14, ๐ฆ must be 17. (difference is 3)
If ๐ฅ = 15, ๐ฆ must be 16. (difference is 1)
Ans. (A, B and C)
