If you're presented with two cost functions (or any other function) which only differ in the factor of one variable you can easily see that the difference between the two equations, i.e. 10.95$ - 6.45$ = 4.5$, must equal the difference of the variable factor:
4.5$ difference must equal the absolute value of difference of pizza slices (3*P - 6*P = |3|*P).
Plugging in gives: 4.5$ = 3*P and solving: P = 1.5$, answer A
