this is one of those questions on the GRE whose sole purpose is to waste time.
Now this is a very basic arithmatic problem
\((\frac{1}{2})^3 + (\frac{2}{3})^2 + \frac{1}{6}\)
\(\frac{1}{8} + \frac{4}{9} + \frac{1}{6}\)
\(\frac{9}{72} + \frac{32}{72} + \frac{12}{72}\)=\(53/72\)
Now this takes valueable seconds. If you are well versed with numbers start replacing fractions with approx values in decimals
\(\frac{1}{8} + \frac{4}{9} + \frac{1}{6}\)
\(\frac{1}{8}=0.125\)
\(\frac{4}{9} \approx 0.5\)
\(\frac{1}{6} \approx 0.15\)
Henc the total value must be greater than 0.5.
Opton D is only one that fits.
