quite a simple sentence but have a look at the answer choices , ideal to make anyone nonplused of such unrelated words, hmm so I can one crack despite not knowing the meaning..
The way I did..(in 1.34min)
1. scrupulosly anticipating the structure -I read the the complete line came up with my own word - BAD SMELL.
2.GLEANED through the option , NOISOME was a natural amorous for the blank
3.NOW for the second word, olfactory was quite inviting but indeed it is a meretricious option , it means related to smell but does not dovetails with my word BAD SMELL.
4. kinda wondered -- what to do now..bovine and pastoral are theme traps for the sentence.
5. Took my chance with mhephatic -- turned out to be foul-smelling; noxious.
got it right.
