Quick Question: I have a background in History, Politics & Economics from UCL (2020, GPA 3.8x, UK High 2-1) I had internships in KPMG M&A and investment bank dept. of a securities in China. My goal is MFin of LSE and Oxford Financial Economics. Now I’m preparing for GMAT. Could you please tell me which other aspects I can improve?
Admissionado Answer: You’ll want to keep up your grades so you continue to have a strong GPA, be sure to land a GMAT score that meets or ideally exceeds your target schools’ averages, and do some research on the schools and on your post-grad career goals so you can make a strong argument for why you need the degree to accomplish those goals & why each school is the best fit for you.
See if you can talk to any alumni, attend events or visit campus & attend a class. Those will all give you good material that you could use in an interview or essay. Take a look at the course catalog & be ready to speak to the specific classes you want to take that will help you fill the 3-4 skill gaps you need to fill to achieve your goals. In particular, you want to speak to electives that you can only find at that school; core curriculum type classes are ones you could find at any school.
Good luck to you!
