Someone has an explanation for Q. 1? I thought it would be E, since the passage states " In the last few years, several biographies have reversed this trend" and the trend being "most of these works have done little more than to show that Hemingway the myth and Hemingway the man were not too dissimilar"
You have grasped the right sentence to analyze. This sentence mentions that Hemingway as a myth and in reality were not very different hence the myth about Hemingway and his personality was similar. Therefore the new biographies are at odds with the myth of Hemingway because it shows a person who is not a big fish anymore.
Also the passage does not mention anything with regards to exploring the link between myth and the reality of Hemingway as an intention of writer. All the conclusion was reached without any intention and that all the prior conclusion on Hemingway happen to be similar to his myths.
