Indeed a tough passage.
Please provide explanation for 27 and 24

22. With respect to the study of ancient literature which of the following statements best expresses the' author's main point concerning modern archaeological finds?

The author actually perceives these modern archaeological findings in a positive way. The author in few sentences has mentioned that even though these findings cause confusion and disbelief among scholars, there is a beneficial side of them too. After the papyrus discovery, scholars will most likely be flexible in modifying their views, because they were able to "rigidly" date The Suppliant Women. In addition, the first line of the passage also agrees with this statement.

(A) They can profoundly alter accepted views of ancient literary works, and can encourage flexibility in the way scholars look at the creative development of any artist.

This matches with the idea mentioned above. The scholars now have more faith and confidence in the findings so they can alter their existing views.

(B) They can be severely shocking and can have a revivifying effect on the study of ancient literature, which has recently suffered from a lack of interest on the part of scholars.

The passage doesn't say that scholars lack any interest.

(C) They can raise more questions than they answer and can be unreliable sources of information.

It is true that the findings create confusion and uneasiness among scholars, but no where was it mentioned that the findings can be unreliable sources of information.

(D) They generally confirm scholars' ideas about ancient literary works and allow them to dispense with inferences drawn from the works' internal structure.

The scholars had to reevaluate their methods due to the papyrus finding, so their ideas were not confirmed by the finding.

(E) They often undermine scholarly consensus in certain areas and create utter confusion concerning an author's work.

The statement is true to some extent, but saying that they "often" undermine scholarly consensus is fallible.

24. This can be inferred that Oresteia came at last from the line below.

In addition, a few letters in the fragment suggest the name Archedemides, archon in 463 B.C., thus perhaps tying the plays to that precise date, almost exactly halfway between Aeschylus' Seven Against Thebes of 467 B.C. and his Oresteia.

27. The allusion to the hypothetical papyrus fragment in lines 45-49 does which of the following?

(A) Supports an argument concerning the date of The Suppliant Women.

The author is giving a hypothetical allusion that was not directed to The Suppliant Women that was "explicitly" mentioned in the passage.

(B) Refutes the views of the majority of scholars concerning the Oxyrhynchus papyrus finds.

The author doesn't give their own opinion on the scholars who were involved in the papyrus finding.

(C) Predicts the future results of archaeological research proposed in the passage.

There is no research that was mentioned the passage.

(D) Undermines the validity of the currently accepted chronology of Aeschylus' works.

This hypothetical fragment would undermine the newly revised consensus on the date of the The Suppliant women. What is currently accepted is already under attack thanks to the papyrus fragment. The author is alluding to a possibility that a new fragment could undermine the revised chronological order of Aeschylus's plays.

(E) Qualifies the author's agreement with the "new creed" developed since the Oxyrhynchus papyrus find.

The author said that the finding has made scholars to reevaluate the chronological criterion "and new creed (doctrine) has now spread". It is implied here that the recent finding eventually earned the consensus about the new doctrine among scholars. But, it also implied that another fragment can come into existence, and scholars may have to alter their consensus again. Hence, answer is E.

categorizing rigidly the development of a creative artist.

(B) Draw inferences concerning the date of a work's composition based on evidence internal
to that work and on the author's other works- correct
vast majority of classical scholars, who had confidently asserted that not only the role of the chorus but also language,

would the author be most likely to agree?
(E) Such criteria, based on often ambiguous internal evidence, can lead to erroneous reconstructions
of the chronology of an author's work- correct
The discovery has resulted in no less than a total reevaluation of every-chronological criterion
that has been applied to or derived from

(A) amused tolerance- correct
(B) mocking envy- not supported
(C) grave doubt- not supported
(D) angry disapproval- not supported
(E) unrestrained enthusiasm- not supported

27. The allusion to the hypothetical papyrus fragment in lines 45-49 does which of the following?

(E) Qualifies the author's agreement with the "new creed" developed since the Oxyrhynchus papyrus find.-correct
This is infact the essence of the entire passage.

Regarding question #27: I don't know why ETS always tries to gull test takers. Actually, what is the current consensus in your idea?! In my idea, after finding papyrus in 1952, 70 years ago, the new idea has emerged; thus, the new idea now has become the current idea, and what you explained was previous idea, the one before finding the papyrus. The passage conspicuously says: "The prominence of the chorus in The Suppliant Women NOW is seen...". Moreover, whenever the passage talks about the other idea, It uses past verbs. For example: "The consensus WAS that..." and " The implication of the papyrus ADMINISTERED a sever shock ... who HAD confidently ASSERTED...". All these verbs refer us to the previous consensus or ideas regarding the history of that drama. Therefore, how did you conclude that " What is currently accepted is already under attack thanks to the papyrus fragment." On the contrary, I believe that " what was previously accepted is currently changed to the new idea. So the choice D is clearly correct. In fact, the author allude to "the hypothetical papyrus fragment" to say that if another papyrus is found, it will undermine the current consensus, or to indicate something more important stated at the end of the passage, which is: "its message of the extreme difficulty of classifying and categorizing rigidly the development of a creative artist". Simply, he wanted to say that it is so hard to classify the works of an artist from 3000 years ago. If the official answer is E, I say that GRE RCs makes ungrounded answers which is thoroughly misleading.

Can someone please explain q21? - one of the overall-idea questions I found tough
I chose A even though unsure about the word "series" in the answer choice and outright crossed out B upon seeing "modern ideas concerning a particular author's work" since I thought the passage was never about the modern ideas

choice A is incorrect because there is only one "archaeological find" , not series of findings. Moreover, "their impact on the study of Greek literature" is too general. The passage only focuses on one case. Try eliminating choice like this.
Secondly, what is the problem with modern ideas. It is true. Actually the modern ideas regarding the drama is: "not only the role of the chorus but also language, metrics, and characterization all pointed to an early date". This is the idea of modern scholars, along with many other details in the passage; and they were rejected by discovery of papyrus fragment showing another idea or hypothesis is true.
