So, civil engineers will experience some emotion due to the likelihood that many storms will come in ______________ which will result in flooding being ________________.
The options are:
worrying - could make sense, if there is *some* unpredictability
comforting - could make sense, if there is *some* predictability
unimportant to - doesn't work because there is some emotion involved, either of relief or worry
Though rainfall is predictable, something about the storms is bothering civil engineers - so, (i) worrying.
Increase in rainfall + __________ = worry, hence (ii) tighter succession [more storms together with increased rain will cause flooding].
Hence, (iii) flooding.
