Speaking of disability accommodations, it's a real hassle trying to get them approved. I applied for 100% extended time, which required documentation. I had a letter written up by my health care specialist, but ETS said the letter wasn't detailed enough. They're looking for a LOT of very detailed information, to the point where this is like applying for federal disability benefits. I'm only applying for extended time!! That's it!! Why are they making it seem like I'm applying for SSDI or something? It's unreal.
So, I don't want to burden my health care provider more by asking her to write up a more extensive analysis of my condition. Instead, I submitted another accommodation request, this time for 50% extended time (which requires NO documentation at all). However, I attached my original documentation anyway, so this should be approved without any difficulty. It's currently in review. And we don't want a psychotic episode to happen in the test center because I couldn't get a medically necessary accommodation, right? Right.
