Hey there which mocks did you take and what was your accuracy in RCs?

Used all ETS mocks. Power Prep and Power Prep plus.

My RC accuracy wasn't that great at the beginning. But over time it became better. At the end I'd get 13/15 questions correct on average.

You can check the link above in the original post about how to get better at RC. Really helped me a lot.

Thanks for answering.

What would you recommend as daily routine for someone whose Verbal is hovering around 155 (though got 159 in manhattan yesterday) .
Current RCs accuracy is 50% (including CRs) Vocab is 50% too.

Done with kaplan 500 , barrron 333 and current;y doing magoosh 1000

Worslist should be enough so just keep revising after you are done with Magoosh.

For RC as I mentioned, check the link in my original post. It helped me massively get better at RC. Use the GRE Big Book to practice RC and no other resource.

As for SE and TC I went with intuition regarding the context. But there are strategies available as well though I could not use them properly. Check gregmat's YouTube videos for strategies on Verbal. They are very useful

I did 1 hour of wordlists and 30 min of RC/CR from the big book usually. Also their single blank questions.

Petrodollar I have not given any offical ETS test but have given like 5 Manhattan and other various free tests. I have been fairly good with quant except for some silly mistakes but seemingly struggle with verbal.

Trying various stratergies such as immersive reading , making notes and understanding the passage but to my chagrin my last mock scores drooped 5 points from 159 to 154

I kinda struggling here.

I ready scott's advice on reddit too but somehow my RC accuracy is floating around 50%

Watching lot of Gregmat videos too but nothing good is happening.

Annoying I would say.

Which is your average rate on RC ??

Also are you more comfortable with the long or short passage.

Moreover, the main idea ?' do you struggle ?? inference are you good ?'

Give me some hint, so we can see where to improve

Hi Carcass,

Average accuracy would be 50% . I don't monitor my time on tests but usually I am able to solve all 20 questions within the stipulated time except for today's mocj where I could solve only 19 questions. This also goes without aying I don't get time to review my option choices.

I have been feeling fairly comfortable with RCs as I started making notes and started to get more of the comprehension , I am not afraid of long RCs obviously medium RCs are a preference as they are less tme taking

Main Idea I am more or less good I would say. Inference maybe I am struggling specially with the lookout qestions. And there there are questions like what is this phrase suppose to do I got that wrong.

I think you do have a good base on which you do need to work out

The problem of the voc is a delicate issue.

it is true you do need to work on it. However, based on the screen you need to have more accuracy, which does not mean more practice will fix the issue.

My best advise is to have a laser focus reading of whatever it is :TC,SE, RC, Cr and then slow down a little bit to give a more in-depth thought.

As for the strategy you follow and suggested by gregmat and neither this work is a thing to reflect on.

In my experience, you could apply the strategy when you are already good on an ENGLISH level.

Therefore, you need to improve the understanding of the language itself. In my humble opinion is the only way to fix definitely the problem

How can a student apply a strategy if he/she does not understand FULLY what he/she read ??

Let me know

I do not have any answer but developing laser sharp focus is imminent. I will see what can be done. Meditation? Wish I had a perfect recall like Brian from TV series Limitless. Where do I get a nueroenhancer? LOL

I did gave a GPC verbal section test today and my accuracy was 60% in RCs and overall a 50%

While practice might not solve the problem per se I understand but it gives my brain on something to work on and I have noticed that I tend to perform better in RCs if I keep on reading as it is less daunting to read if you are an avid reader.

Thanks for your inputs.

Also . I have this vague idea my scores will be better in official test as these are Manhattan ones, not sure if that's veracious or just a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Do not reply on MGRE.

The final judgement is given to you by the PP

Also, when you are used to read everything from NYT to Aeon https://aeon.co/essays/a-bioethicist-on ... n-in-italy

Rc is not a problem
