First, translate the amount of their sales ($25, 000, $40, 000, and $60, 000) into the ratio =====> let's take 25,000 as the base, then 40,000 is 1.6 times more (40,000-25,000/25,000) and 60,000 is 2.4 times more than 25,000 (65,000-25,000/25,0000). Hence, our three ratios will be: 1-1.6-2.4 .
The question asks "what is the amount of the largest commission paid": (20,0000/(1+1.6+2.4))* 2.4 = $9,600
