Re: Text Completion #Q56-surrender to the authority of the clock [#permalink]
1
By forcing our surrender to the authority of the clock, systematic timekeeping has imposed a form of ______ on society.

(A) anarchy
(B) permanence
(C) provincialism
(D) tyranny
(E) autonomy

Forcing surrender, so we are essentially being under an no autonomy or individual freedom. So A and E can be eliminated. B doesn't have reference as to whether it will be permanent or not. C is out of context meaning narrow minded. So D is the correct choice for this.
