The number of heads and tails out of 24 tosses can never be a fraction, they have to be WHOLE numbers.
We just have to figure out which one of the ratios produces a FRACTION for the number of Heads and Tails.
If the total number of tosses (24) divided by the sum of the two numbers within a ratio equals a whole number, we know for sure that is a POSSIBLE ratio.
A) 1+1 =2; 24/2= 12; Possible
B) 2+1 =3; 24/3= 8; Possible
C) 3+1 =4; 24/4= 6; Possible
D) 4+1 =5; 24/5= 4.8; FRACTION, so NOT Possible
E) 5+1 =6; 24/6= 6; Possible
Answer D.
